> Salt, the highly anticipated new restaurant from chef WES JOHNSON, former chef de cuisine at Eclipse Restaurant in the Moonrise Hotel, officially opened its doors April 7 at 4356 Lindell Blvd. in the CWE. The menu features small plates, cheeses, charcuterie and other examples of farm-to-table goodness, plus great wine and cocktail selections.
> We’ve learned that chef IAN VEST has left Jim Fiala’s The Crossing in Clayton, and chef MATT ABESHOUSE has assumed control of the kitchen there.
> St. Louis Wing Company, the new offering from chef BOBBY TESSLER of the late Mia Rosa in The Grove, has finally opened at 9816 Manchester Road in Rock Hill.
> Looks like the Mad Tomato opening we told you about a couple of weeks ago has been changed. The new Italian restaurant from chef VITO RACANELLI JR. was to debut April 15. The new opening date is now April 28. Ribbon cutting ceremonies for the eatery, located at 8000 Carondelet Ave. in Clayton, kick off at 5:30 p.m., followed by an open house featuring samples of the farm-to-table menu, Italian wines and pastries courtesy of pastry chef Sally Sciaroni. > L’Ecole Culinaire is hosting the second annual Taste of L’Ecole on Friday, April 29, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the school’s campus, 9811 South Forty Drive.
