All nonprofits planning events next year, take note: Butler's Pantry has announced it will donate $2,013 to each non-profit organization that hosts an event at its Palladium Saint Louis event space in 2013.

Truffles in Ladue has debuted a new late-night menu to satisfy those after-hours cravings. Items include House-Smoked Bacon ‘Pops,’ Elysian Field's Farm Lamb Sliders and the Truffles Burger. The menu will be available at the bar from 9 to 11 p.m. on Thursdays, and 10 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.

It's been announced that Niche will be closing down its Benton Park location on Thursday, Oct. 18, and will be officially opening the doors of its new digs in the Centenne Building in Clayton on Thursday, Nov. 1.

Gearing up to prepare a big holiday feast? The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis is offering a cooking class, Home For The Holidays, on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the hotel kitchen. The Ritz's chefs will provide hands-on instruction for whipping up tasty holiday fare, such as sweet potato casserole, lavender-dusted quail and pumpkin pie, among others. Cost is $79 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 719-1433.

Acero in Maplewood is hosting a wine dinner on Monday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 pm. The seven-course feast will feature wines from the Vinichio-Vaglia Serra Winery in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. The vino will be paired with dishes from chef ADAM GNAU. Tickets are $90, and reservations can be made by calling 644-1790.

Local culinarians STL Winegirl ANGELA ORTMANN and CARYN DUGAN, aka STL Veg Girl, will be combining forces to create a four-course vegan wine dinner, called The Root And The Vine, on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 pm at Mosaic in Des Peres. The dinner, a collaboration with Mosaic chef BEN LESTER, will benefit Food Outreach. Tickets for the event are $75 per person and can be purchased online at therootandthevine.eventbrite.com.

Congrats to TED KILGORE, mixologist extraordinaire at Taste in the CWE. His original cocktail, the Industry Sour, garnered a mention as Cocktail of The Week on Esquire's Food For Men blog.

Chef BRIAN HARDESTY, co-owner of the Guerilla Street Food Truck, will be helming another kitchen soon. He's signed on the be executive chef of Element, a new restaurant that will be opening up early next year in the Power Plant building near Lafayette Square. No details on the menu offerings yet, but we'll keep you posted. Fans of GSF don't fear, Hardesty will continue running his popular mobile eatery.

Only one more day to enter your homemade sandwich creation in Panera Bread's Sandwich Showdown contest. Submit your original recipe online at tlc.com/panera by Saturday, Oct. 6. The site also gives contestants a rundown of toppings, ingredients and specialty breads. The winner will take home $10,000 cash, $500 in Panera gift cards, free bagels for a year and get to have his or her sandwich on menus across the country.
