◆The latest Lester’s Sports Bar & Grill location has finally opened its doors at 4651 Maryland Ave. in the CWE. The menu is the same as those of the other two locations. The new location also boasts 37 highdefinition flat-screen TVs, with four of them on the rooftop patio.

◆Lots of news from Robust Wine Bar: First, executive chef KRIS JANICK left for a new adventure in California at the end of July, and sous chef ZACH DALE has stepped up as kitchen manager, overseeing the dayto- day operations. Then, it was announced that chef ERIC BRENNER, who has been in charge of Robust’s catering operations since last year, has been named the company’s Chief Culinary Officer. According to a statement, that means Brenner will be in charge of menu design, product development and quality control for all Robust operations.

◆ Pi Pizzeria has opened its latest location in Washington, D.C., the first one to bow outside St. Louis. The new restaurant, dubbed District of Pi, is located at 910 F Street NW in the Penn Quarter neighborhood, across the street from the National Portrait Gallery and the Spy Museum, and just five blocks from the White House. The new menu has some new items unique to D.C., as well as favorites like the Bucktown and Southside Classico pizzas.

◆We told you last month that Nosh would soon be re-opening in the space co-located with Starr’s on Big Bend in Richmond Heights. Well, it took a little longer than expected, but the doors are now officially open!

◆The annual Taste of St. Louis fest will take place Friday, Sept. 23, through Sunday, Sept. 25, at Soldiers’ Memorial downtown. One of the highlights will be the Chef Battle Royale competition, which will feature returning champ JACK MACMURRAY III, as well as NICK MILLER of Harvest, CHRIS LEE of Sanctuaria, CARL HAZEL of Scottish Arms, JOHN GRIFFITHS of Truffles, JIM VOSS of Duff’s and GRACE DINSMOOR of Modesto, as well as two ‘mystery chef’ competitors. Admission is free and open to the public. More info is available at tastestl.com.

◆ The folks behind the popular Falafelwich Sandwich Wagon have opened a new restaurant venture, Cheaters Sports Grill and Ultrapub, located at 3818 Laclede Ave. The entire menu carried on the truck, along with some additional bar food favorites, will be available for dine-in, pick-up or delivery. If you’re looking to catch a game, the restaurant features some 20 flat-screen TVs.

◆We recently learned that The Blue Nile Market and Cafe at 8615 Olive Blvd. in U. City, next to Pho Long, has shuttered. No word yet on the reason for the closure.
