◆ Looking for dining-out options for Thanksgiving? The Ritz Carlton, St. Louis is offering a couple of ways to keep you out of the kitchen on Turkey Day. The Restaurant at the Ritz will have a Thanksgiving Harvest Brunch from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with traditional favorites like handcarved roast turkey, for $79 per person ($39.50 for children under 12). And The Grill at the Ritz will have a four-course prix fixe dinner created by sous chef JACO SMITH for $85 per person (children 12 and under $42.50). Call 719-1433 for reservations.
◆ Dooley’s Beef ‘N Brew House is now open at 601 N. Grand Blvd., in the former home of Shakespeare’s Gastropub. Dooley’s was a fixture downtown for years in its previous location until closing in 2008.
◆ JOE SANFILIPPO’s latest venture, Filippo’s Italian Kitchen & Bar, celebrated its grand opening last week with a soiree to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Filippo’s is located at 120 Chesterfield Valley Drive, the former home of Tribeca Lounge. The restaurant will feature a smaller menu, highlighting the most popular dishes from J.F. Sanfilippo’s in downtown St. Louis.
◆ 4 Hands Brewing Company opened softly Nov. 11 at 1220 South Eighth St. The micro-brewery has five of its own brews on tap, and will be featuring food from area food trucks during the day. Speaking of breweries, it’s been announced that local culinary company Entre, which sponsors underground dinners and runs a massive food trailer, among other endeavors, will be running the kitchen at Perennial Artisan Ales in South City. Look for a rotating menu of 12 to 14 items using local ingredients. The kitchen will be ready to go at the end of November. Until then, the Entre food trailer will be onsite Thursday through Saturday. And 2nd Shift Brewing in New Haven, Mo., has announced it’s starting a Saturday School, which will give brewing enthusiasts a chance to help brew a few hundred gallons of beer. ◆Wasabi Sushi Bar will be opening restaurant No. 7 in Fairview Heights, Ill., on Nov. 22. The new location, at 6530 N. Illinois St., is near St. Clair Square.
◆A restaurant we told you was coming soon has officially opened its doors. Blondie’s Coffee & Wine Bar is now doing business at 1301 Washington Ave. downtown.
