Balabans Wine Cellar & Tapas Bar will be expanding its space and operations this fall. The restaurant has secured adjacent space in the Dierbergs Marketplace for a new private event space and a wine room for dining as well as a new home for its Library of Wines. The new space will be open for bookings beginning Nov. 19, and will expand the restaurant by some 45 percent. We’re told the wine store, restaurant and deli will remain open during the renovations.

Stonehaus Farms Vineyard & Winery in Lee’s Summit, Mo., has won the 2012 Missouri Governor’s Cup for its Strother Ridge Vignoles Semi Sweet. The vino was chosen from a field of almost 300 wines. Nine judges from across the country conduct blind tastings to determine the winner of the Governor’s Cup, which recognizes the best wine in the state. Congratulations!
