The Chase Park Plaza has announced KYLE LIPETZKY as its new executive chef. He’ll oversee all of the hotel’s restaurants (Eau Bistro and Café Eau), the catering division and outlets. Lipetzky previously held leadership positions at The Phoenician and Camelback Inn, a JW Marriott Resort and Spa, both in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The Grill at The Ritz-Carlton and chef AZHAR MOHAMMAD will soon be launching a new four-course menu, priced at $44 per person. The new bill of fare is another step toward making The Ritz more accessible to diners, building on the 30-minute lunch that recently debuted at The Restaurant. Ritz regulars shouldn’t be worried—we’re told the current, full menu will still be available as well.

Chef GERARD CRAFT was denied again at the James Beard Awards in NYC earlier this month. Craft was up for Best Chef-Midwest honors, his third time as a finalist, but the prize went to chef Tory Miller of L’Etoile in Madison, Wis. We want to congratulate Craft on representing the Lou so well on the national culinary stage. Next year!

For those who’d like to relax after a hard Wednesday afternoon foraging at the Maplewood Farmers Market at the Schlafly Bottleworks parking lot, next-door neighbor Acero has just the remedy. In its latest newsletter, JIM FIALA’s fine Italian eatery announced that shoppers can come by for a glass of wine and some small-plate fare and store their market finds in one of the restaurant’s coolers.

Local cigar company Table 36 is rolling out its Fellowship blend, a collaboration with the Alec Bradley Cigar Company of Florida. We’re told the company will be teaming up with local chocolatiers, coffee companies and beverage makers for taste pairings with its new cigar. We’ll keep you posted.

NATE SELSOR, who ran the bar program at the recently shuttered Monarch Restaurant in Maplewood, has landed behind the bar at DeMun Oyster Bar, where he recently debuted his first cocktail menu.

The Beverage Testing Institute recently awarded medals to 18 Mount Pleasant wines, under both the Mount Pleasant Estates and Mount Pleasant Winery labels. Highlights include the Mount Pleasant Winery NV Vignoles, which earned a gold medal, a Best Buy designation and a score of 92 points. “It’s a testimony to our dedication to growing the best grapes and producing fine wines,“ says Mount Pleasant’s CHUCK DRESSEL. Congrats!

St. Louis was ranked third in the 2012 BeerCity USA poll. Almost 56,000 votes were cast. The Lou came in behind Asheville, N.C., and Grand Rapids, Mich., which tied for first in a statistical dead-heat.
