Lots of events on the books now that the weather has (hopefully) come around:

Every Tuesday night in June from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, head to Bixby's to tailgate and celebrate the Missouri History Museum’s Gridiron Glory exhibit. Guests will enjoy football favorites, including three-cheese quesadillas with smoky salsa, buffalo chicken skewers with buttermilk ranch, bacon and cheddar potato baskets. The exhibit itself includes memorabilia, one-of-a-kind documents from the Pro Football Hall of Fame and opportunities for fans to try on vintage pads and helmets. Cost is $20 per person (tax and service charge not included) and there also will be a cash bar available. Visit bixbys-mohistory.com for tickets or call 454-3151.

PW Pizza is starting up a series of monthly beer dinners, beginning on Wednesday, May 22, featuring beers from Kirkwood Station Brewing Company. The itinerary for the rest of the dinners includes Perennial Artisan Ales (June 26); Crown Valley Brewing and Distilling Company (July 31); and Blue Moon Brewing Company (Aug. 28). Along with four beer pourings, guests will enjoy pizza, pasta, salads and desserts. Cost for the dinners is $20, plus tax and tip. Call 621-1996 for reservations.

The seventh annual St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival is coming to Forest Park June 14 and 15. The festival line-up features more than 20 members of the St. Louis Brewers Guild; and more than 80 lagers, ales, specialty beers, hybrid styles and homebrews will be available for sampling. Participants will include 2nd Shift Brewing Company, 4 Hands Brewing Company, Charleville Vineyard & Microbrewery, Excel Brewing, Morgan Street Brewery, O’Fallon Brewery, Perennial Artisan Ales, Schlafly Beer, and Urban Chestnut Brewing Company. More details at stlbrewfest.com.

Also just in time for summer, Modesto Tapas Bar & Restaurant has announced that it'll be offering outdoor seating on the patio during happy hour from 5 to 10 p.m weekdays.

Finally, just a quiet note of congrats to chef GERARD CRAFT, who was in NYC earlier this week, competing for the title of Best Chef-Midwest at the James Beard Awards. Craft lost a close contest to fellow Missouri chef CORY GARRELTS of Bluestem in Kansas City, but represented the St. Louis well. Next year!
