Pomme Restaurant in Clayton is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month by giving something back to the community. From Oct. 16 to 27 (excluding Sundays and Mondays), Pomme will donate 10 percent of food sales to Operation Food Search. During these 10 days, corkage fees will be waived on any 2002 vintage, and guests can register to win a 10-year-old bottle of Macallan Scotch.
Gearing up to prepare a big holiday feast? The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis is offering a cooking class, Home For The Holidays, on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the hotel kitchen. The Ritz's chefs will provide hands-on instruction for whipping up tasty holiday fare, like sweet potato casserole, lavender-dusted quail and pumpkin pie, among others. Lots happening on weekends in October: 4 Hands Brewing Company is hosting the second annual Food Truck Feast Oct. 20, from noon until 8 p.m. Ten of the most popular food trucks will convene at the brewery, 1220 South 8th Street, along with three live bands. The event also will be the debut of Smoked Pigasus, 4 Hands' much-anticipated rye smoked maple porter. Also on October 20, if chili is your thing, drop by Lift For Life Academy's Annual Soulard Chili Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Academy's parking lot at 1731 South Broadway, across from Soulard Market. During October, 1111 Mississippi, Vin De Set and PW Pizza, owned by PAUL and WENDY HAMILTON, will be recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with daily ‘Pink Plate Specials’ during lunch and dinner.
