Time certainly does fly—it's already been a year since the folks at Piccione Pastry opened up in the Delmar Loop. The authentic Italian pastry shop marked its first anniversary this week; and to celebrate, they're offering a slew of discounts through this Sunday, April 27. They include mini birthday cake cannolis, mini-scoops of gelato and Italian sodas for $1 each; and breakfast focaccia and coffee, lunch combos and 1-pound boxes of Italian cookies for $4.22 each. There also will be a drawing where one lucky winner will receive a ‘Bakers Dozen Birthday Party.’ Simply take a photo in front of the pastry shop’s in-store banner and go to the Piccione Pastry Facebook page to enter. The winner will receive a party for 13 people.
St. Louis continues to get national recognition for its culinary scene. The latest accolades come courtesy of The Munchies: People's Choice Food Awards. Guerrilla Street Food won Best Food Truck, and Pappy's Smokehouse took Best BBQ in the online contest. Nominees were chosen by a panel of culinary celeb-types, led by TV foodie personality ANDREW ZIMMERN. As if that weren't enough, the GSF truck also made the Forbes list of the 25 Fantastic Food Trucks. Congrats to all—you makes us proud!
