James Beard award-winning chef MICHAEL MINA will be in St. Louis soon to host St. Louis Community College's (STLCC) annual benefit dinner, ‘Falling In Love...in Five Courses.’ The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Four Seasons downtown, and will also feature the talents of the hotel's executive chef FABRIZIO SCHENARDI and CASEY SHILLER, executive pastry chef at STLCC culinary program, as well as some of the program's students. The cost is $295 per ticket, with proceeds going to benefit students and programs at STLCC. For info, call 539-5358.

Mixologist extraordinaire TED KILGORE of Taste has announced his next move: He'll be opening up his own watering hole, The Planter's House, next year at 1000 Mississippi Ave. in Lafayette Square, along with TED CHARAK, bar manager at Brasserie by Niche. The new place won't be open until sometime in late spring, so in the interim, Kilgore still will be behind the bar at Taste. We'll keep you appraised as details of the project get firmed up.

The new and improved Cheshire continues to attract top-notch talent into the fold. Basso, the Italian-themed basement eatery located directly below The Restaurant, has brought PATRICK CONNOLLY on board as its executive chef. Connolly, a St. Louis native and James Beard Award winner, is returning home after much success on the East Coast.

Pastry chef SIMONE FAURE, most recently of The Ritz-Carlton, will be opening her own tea room and dessert restaurant, La Patisserie Choquette, at 1626 Tower Grove Ave. early next year. Not a lot of details yet, but fans can get updates on the progress via facebook at facebook.com/chouquettestl.

Sapore Italian Cafe has relocated from Ballwin to new digs at The Woodbine Center, 451 S. Kirkwood Road, in Kirkwood. The space most recently housed Trattoria Branica.

Congrats to the folks at Parker's Table at Oakland & Yale. The wine, beer, spirits and specialty foods purveyors just celebrated the first year at their current location at 7718 Oakland Ave., right next to St. Mary's Health Center.

Seems like GUY FIERI just can't get enough of the Lou. Highway 61 Roadhouse & Kitchen in Webster Groves is the latest St. Louis restaurant to appear on his Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. The restaurant made its small-screen debut Dec. 10.
