Recently, the folks at Local Harvest announced that their business was in trouble, due in large part to its failed Kirkwood store, which closed last fall. They needed to raise $120,000 by Feb. 7 to keep the doors at the two Local Harvest cafes and Local Harvest Grocery open. To reach this goal, Local Harvest offered gift certificates and punch cards for sale, and started an Idiegogo campaign to take donations. We're pleased to report that this ambitious campaign succeeded in spades: The full amount was raised with almost a week to spare, and owners PATRICK HORINE and MADDIE EARNEST are gearing up to get the business back on track. Congrats!
Parker's Table has announced it'll soon be opening a bakery onsite, helmed by pastry chef SUMMER WRIGHT, who recently moved back to St. Louis. Wright worked at Niche, Brasserie by Niche and Five Bistro, among other local eateries, before moving to California for a spell. Look for an opening sometime this summer.
