The Oscars were presented at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles Sunday, Feb. 22. You already know who got what. Here are my thoughts:
Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Penélope Cruz for ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’
When I made my predictions, I forgot the all-important rule: If an actress in this category was nominated for a Woody Allen film, she automatically wins.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Heath Ledger in ‘The Dark Knight’
I knew I would get at least one right.
Why do they only applaud the big celebrities? That bugs me. Either hold applause or applaud for everyone equally…just a thought.
Best Actress: Kate Winslet for ‘The Reader’
So she is not the Susan Lucci of the Oscars, she won on her sixth nomination at the ripe old age of 33. Also, very nice fake claps from the other nominees…
Best Actor: Sean Penn for ‘Milk’
I went for the long shot in Hollywood, rooting for Frank Langella in Frost/Nixon, but it was well deserved. After all, who in Hollywood would vote for a Republican?
Best Film: ‘SlumDog Millionaire’
