Dragon Tattoo too violent? Mission Impossible lack substance? Already seen The Artist? This weekend might be a good week to stay in with a rental. Here’s what’s new:
Matt Damon leads a cast that reads like a guest list to an Oscar party in this viral—in the literal sense—thriller. When Damon’s wife, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, comes back from a business trip in Asia with a nagging cough, the fun begins. Not recommended for germaphobes. I gave it an 8.
Don’t be Afraid of the Dark
Generic haunted house thriller starring Guy Pearce as an architect restoring a gothic mansion while his young daughter inadvertently opens a portal to hell. And you know how hard to close those can be. Not reviewed.
I don’t think this ever opened in St. Louis, but it is an extremely well-reviewed Irishbuddy comedy about two mismatched cops trying to solve a crime. It received 95 percent positive reviews from the critics contributing to rottentomatoes.com.
I Don’t Know How She Does It
Sarah Jessica Parker stars in this hideous rom-com about a working mother trying to bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan. It’s a 3.
Shark Night 3D
Need I say more?
And if you’re in the mood for sequels or aliens, the current top five rentals are: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, The Hangover Part 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Cowboys and Aliens, Super 8
