Fontbonne University Theatre Department will be presenting “The Children’s Hour” by the awarding winning American playwright Lillian Hellman, directed by Jean Lang.  Hellman places the New England town of Lancet under her microscope in the “The Children’s Hour.” This is the story of two women Karen Wright and Martha Dobby who have work hard to make their dream of creating a successful school for girls a reality. Their dreams are dashed as Mary, a malicious child, creates a lie to take the focus off her behavior and instead calls into the question the relationship between her teachers. As the rumor spreads and society turns against them, the school is abandoned and the two women’s lives destroyed.  The production will run from Wednesday Oct. 9th-12th with shows at 8:00 pm and Sunday Oct. 13th at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $5.00 and free for students.  This production is participating in the American Arts Experience festival.
