The Tennessee Williams Festival returns this May celebrating the life and work of America’s greatest playwright. The Festival’s mission is to enrich the cultural life of St. Louis by producing an annual theater celebration and other artistic and educational events that commemorate the art and influence of Tennessee Williams.
Every day will be packed with exceptional performances and fun activities that celebrate this brilliant St. Louis native’s most iconic works. The festival begins Wednesday May third at eight p.m. at the Curtain Call Lounge with “Bertha in Paradise.” Thursday and Friday will feature several opening acts and art exhibits. The weekend play continues on Saturday and Sunday with parties, panels, tours, and shouting contests.
Tennessee Williams’ classic works were influenced by his coming of age in St. Louis. This lucid poet’s art, endowed with nearly unparalleled authenticity, now influences the City that shaped him.
