Celebrities Will ‘Wait Tables’ to Help Keep Children Safe

The St. Louis Crisis Nursery is holding their 24th Annual Celebrity Waiters Night Thursday August 24 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The event will be held at four West County Center restaurants – BRAVO! Cucina Italiana, California Pizza Kitchen, J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood, and McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks.
More than 100 national and local celebrities will mingle with diners to encourage donations that will benefit the Crisis Nursery's child abuse prevention programs. In addition, many of the participating restaurants will be donating a percentage of their proceeds to the Crisis Nursery.
The evening also includes live entertainment, a balloon artist, a Happy Hour, sample drinks from 4204 Main Street Brewing Company, and raffle items including a Cardinal game in the Hardee’s Suite, Dinner for 8 at Bravo!, Kate Spade and Coach bags and much more.
Wells Fargo Advisors reigning celebrity champ, Chip Walker will host an already sold-out event at Parigi in Clayton that same evening. Walker, Managing Director at Wells Fargo Advisors, has raised over $50,000 each year during Celebrity Waiters Night.
Last year, diners contributed over $130,000 in donations to celebrity waiters to benefit the kids and families served by Crisis Nursery.
Since 1986, Crisis Nursery has provided 24/7 emergency intervention, respite care and support for over 109,000 children ages birth through 12 years. A community staple, Crisis Nursery is credited with preventing the abuse or neglect of 99 percent of children while their families are benefitting from the organization's programs.
Co-chairs for the event are City of Saint Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, Saint Louis County Executive Steve Stenger, East Saint Louis Mayor Emeka Jackson-Hicks, and the City of Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione.

"It means the world to the children and families who will benefit from intervention and support services that the Crisis Nursery provides.
