The St Louis County Plein Air Festival celebrates the tradition of outdoor painting combining art and science in its most natural format.  Painting from life and the landscape has long been an artistic tradition whether to make a record as in the cave paintings or document details for further study or to express the feelings of the moment.
Watch artists create in front of you.  Relax with great music and food at our Sunday concert and paint out. View fresh paintings at our Sunday Show and Sale. Children can try painting plein air during our Kid's Paint, Sunday May 20th. Vote for your favorite artists at our Open Door Reception. Take home an original piece of fine art.
The St Louis Plein Air Art Event provides artists with the opportunity to enhance their skills, to receive recognition for their art, and to simply experience nature in the company of other artists and as such it is open to artists of all levels.  The Public is invited to observe artists at work, explore the County Park System  and enjoy the healing effects of art and nature.
Explore the park system as it peaks with color, baby wildlife, as well as meandering streams and lakes.
