On Saturday, June 14, Jefferson National Expansion Memorial will celebrate National Get Outdoors Day with Get Outdoors at the Gateway Arch. Those of all ages are invited to the park grounds for this FREE event where local and regional organizations will showcase their dedication to outdoor recreation; and encourage families to get outside and explore nature.
“We are committed to demonstrating the exciting outdoor activities St. Louis has to offer at Get Outdoors at the Gateway Arch,” said Ann Honious, Chief, Museum Services and Interpretation, Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. “This year’s event includes something for everyone—whether you’re looking for an outdoor thrill or hoping to learn more about nature’s offerings—that encourages education, exploration and adventure.”
The day’s free, family friendly activities include a kids’ walk, rock climbing wall, fitness sessions, live music, amateur radio demonstrations, pioneer activities, geocaching, orienteering, a bicycle safety town, solar-powered s’mores cooking, Bobber the Dog, and much more!
NPS partners Bi-State Development Agency and Jefferson National Parks Association will also be participating in the event.
