St. Louis Symphony Musicians Perform a FREE Concert at the Community Music School - Ladue News: Music & Concerts

The St. Louis Symphony Community Partnerships Program presents a FREE concert at the Community Music School of Webster Universityon Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m.  The concert will feature solo performances by St. Louis Symphony musicians:  Daniel Lee, Principal Cellist; William James, Principal Percussionist; and Erin Schreiber, Assistant Concertmaster. 

 

Cellist Daniel Lee will perform the tour de force piece Kodály’s Sonata for Solo Cello, Op. 8.  Percussionist William James will pay tribute to Frank Zappa through Peter Eötvös’ Psalm 15, “In memoriam Frank Zappa.”  Sequenza VII for Solo Violin by Berio, will be performed by violin virtuoso Erin Schreiber. 

 

The St. Louis Symphony embarks on a California Tour in mid-March and the program they are presenting at the Community Music School is the same they will perform at the Crocker Art Museum at the University of California-Davis.
