Featuring the Altius Quartet from Dallas, Texas, performing the Haydn Quartet Op. 50, No.1, Shostakovich Quartet No.9, and Schubert's "Death and the Maiden."

Concluding the concert, the Altius Quartet will be joined by members of the Prep program and SIUE Suzuki Strings for the collaboration on the performance of Michael Abels Dances and Delights. Commissioned in 2007 by the Sphinx Organization to celebrate its 10th anniversary as well as its dedication to promoting the works of African and Latino composers, Dances and Delights perfectly captures the emotional and physical energy of youth.
