The Open Space Council for St. Louis Region host the 46th annual OPERATION CLEAN STREAM

The event will take place on the 24th and 25th of August, it will begin at 9:00 A.M. on the morning of the 24th at various sites in the region. Information on various volunteer locations can be found at our homepage: http://www.openspacestl.org/programs/operation-clean-stream

Volunteers are invited to participate as individuals or with a group in Operation Clean Stream(OCS), a river stewardship event in the St. Louis region. Volunteers can boat, float in canoes, or work along the shore and riverbank on an assigned section of the Meramec, Big, Bourbeuse, Courtois or Huzzah Rivers. Volunteers should be prepared to work hard and get dirty removing trash, tires and debris of all kinds from the river and river banks. All cleanup supplies are provided.

In addition to the cleanup, youth ages 5-18 are invited to participate in the Passport to Clean Water program (P2CW).  Youth can walk a greenway adjacent to the Meramec River in the P2CW program, where they can enjoy nature and learn about natural resources trough free educational, interactive activities, discussions and exportations. Each child will receive a passport that will be stamped after a visit to each booth and they can redeem it at the final booth for a prize.  After this program, participants will be equipped with knowledge on how they can improve water quality in their daily lives.

The Passport to Clean Water program will take place on August 24th, from 11:00-1:30 at Greentree Park in Kirkwood, Missouri.  For more information visit our homepage, or to register here: http://p2cw.eventbrite.com/
