A new art exhibit by Joanne Stremsterfer is on display at the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Road, St. Louis, MO 63117, from late October until Dec. 14, 2017. The Ethical Society is open from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday through Friday and Sunday mornings until 1:00 PM.

Using multiple printmaking techniques and adding additional media create wonderful layers of visual images. Joanne says of her work: "I've loved to draw for many years, but eventually I started experimenting with various surfaces upon which I would use charcoal and pastels. Gradually the surface experiments became the primary focus of my drawings, first using monotypes and then using solar plate, silk screen, collage, relief and etchings. Further development of these techniques eventually became the vehicle for personal expression. I continue to push and expand the experiments to create my personal expression. Exploring the effect of layering the printmaking methods some of which are softly transparent, some are boldly assertive continue to intrigue me."
