On Saturday, June 8, the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial at the Gateway Arch will team up with federal, state and local agencies, and local non-profit organizations to celebrate National Get Outdoors Day. The annual one-day event, celebrated by parks and cities across the nation, aims to combat the effects of indoor, inactive lifestyles by encouraging families to spend time outdoors and explore the natural world, while enjoying various outdoor recreational activities.
The Gateway Arch grounds will be filled with various free, family friendly, fun and educational outdoor activities focused on wildlife, outdoor adventure, crafts, fishing, gardening, walking, biking, exercise, and other activities promoting healthful living.
Activities include a kids walk, rock climbing, fitness sessions, live music, fly fishing demonstrations, geocaching and orienteering, a bike safety course, stream life demonstrations, and much more!
