Gateway Gallery at 21 North Bemiston in Clayton, presents "Room with a View", January 5 through February 15, with Artists' Reception January 25, 6-9pm.  Featuring the art of resident artist Deborah A Williams, who lives among the fields and farms of Millstadt IL.  She is a professional artist who prefers to work "en plein air", capturing landscapes on location in natural light, reflecting her love of architecture and landscape.  Her medium of choice is soft pastels, but she works also in acrylics, mixed media and photography.  Her art is in private collections and her photography has been sold by Hallmark.  Her art has been exhibited at Missouri Athletic Club, St Louis University Museum of Art;  Woman's Institute & Gallery in New Harmony, IN; National Shrine of Our Lady of Snows in Belleville, IL; Creative Art Gallery in St Louis and many fine art fairs.  Born in Louisiana, Deborah has lived in many states and Bermuda with her Air Force family.  A graduate of St Louis University with Master of Science in Sustainability, she is founding member of Gateway Pastel Artists and Gateway Gallery.

Gateway Gallery's guest artists, Rip Kastaris and Cheryl Dorris will present their art and photography.  Rip is a verteran illustrator, designer and video editor who uses all his skills to bring visual gravity to "the Art of Blues", featuring many great St Louis Blues musicians, whose live music have turned Rip's passion in to the Art of Blues with musical art full of life...vibrating with rythms and harmonies in his bright colors.  Rip created images for rock star Sting; produced official art for four consecutive Olympic Games, and painted the four-story Steamboat Mural on the Great River Road in Alton, IL.  Come see this first time exhibition of his recent work, and be moved by the art... and music which inspired the artist.

Gateway Guest Artist Cheryl Dorris will exhibit her photographs, inspired by the warm light from a sunset, shimmering reflections on water and the crisp hues found in cities abroad.  Photography has been Cheryl's lifetime passion, taking shape via the landscape, open air, changing light and breathtaking beauty.  Drawn to capture different venues with her camera, she feels both calm and energized.  She is a self-taught photographer with a marketing background, who has been photographing the landscape for 15 years, traveling around the country and world to work with the images which inspire her.  Her photography has been published in magazines, books, and shown in various galleries around St Louis, receiving recognition in numerous juried competitions, including Best in Show, Old Orchard Gallery; and a finalist in the SEEN Competition, Studio Altius.

GATEWAY GALLERY is owned and oeprated entirely by local artists, affording visitors to interact with the artists themselves in a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere.  The diversity of artwork ranges from traditional landscapes to contemporary abstraction and is presented in a variety of mediums.  Exhibitions change periodically featuring one of the gallery's resident artist and guest artists.  Located in downtown Clayton MO, the gallery is withing walking distance to many of St Louis finest restaurants and hotels, making it a 'must-stop' destinatiion for art lvoers, art collectors and designers.  Gallery hours are 11am to 6pm Wednesday through Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.  www.gatewaygalleryonline.com
