44th Annual Jack Buck Golf Classic - Ladue News: Charitable Fundraisers

The Jack Buck Golf Classic, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will take place on August 18th and 19th at the exclusive Country Club of St. Albans. The Golf Classic is the longest-running charity golf tournament west of the Mississippi. For the past 44 years, the tournament has raised vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Golf Classic is comprised of two events – the Jack Buck Classic Dinner & Auction on Sunday night and the Jack Buck Golf Tournament on Monday morning.

The Jack Buck Classic Dinner on Sunday night is an entertaining evening out at the country club, even if you aren’t a golfer. The night includes a cocktail reception with complimentary wine and beer, a seated dinner, live and silent auctions and entertainment. KMOX Sports Director Tom Ackerman will be the emcee for the evening. The night begins at 4:30pm with the cocktail reception and concludes around 8:30pm. Tickets are only $65 per person! Tables of 8 are available for $500 if you would like to attend with a group.

Monday’s golf tournament activities start at 7am with registration, complimentary breakfast, a putting contest, complimentary golf lessons and more. Arrive early to take advantage of all of the pre-tournament activities. The scramble-format tournament begins with a 9:00am shotgun start. While golfing, players enjoy complimentary soda, beer, water and Starbucks iced coffee. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Morton’s Steakhouse will provide food on the course. Golfers also have a chance to win a car from TriStar Mercedes and Johnny Londoff Chevrolet. The day concludes back at the clubhouse at 1:30pm with cocktails, a lunch buffet and an award presentation. Individual golfer tickets, foursomes and corporate sponsorships are still available.

The award-winning Country Club of St. Albans is regarded as one of the finest country clubs in the Midwest and has been recognized as one of the top 200 private country clubs out of 5,000 in the United States.

About the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation:

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States. CF substantially impairs respiratory and digestive functions, making simple acts of eating and breathing a challenge. The Foundation funds more CF research than any other organization, and nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support. The Foundation also supports and accredits a national care center network that has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health as a model of care for a chronic disease. The CF Foundation is a donor-supported nonprofit organization. For more information, please visit the Gateway Chapter’s website at http://gateway.cff.org.
