Featuring an exciting $30,000 Grand Prix and several prestigious national championships, the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show will take place Sept. 10-14 and Sept. 24-27 at the National Equestrian Center, 6880 Lake Saint Louis Blvd. in Lake Saint Louis.
Always a crowd pleaser, the $30,000 Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. General admission to the horse show and the Grand Prix is free and refreshments are available for purchase. For an up-close view of the jumping action, the Grand Prix offers ringside tailgate parking for $75 per car. Special jumping classes also will be featured Friday and Saturday evening beginning at 7 p.m.
The Saddlebred show kicks off with high-stepping action on Sept. 24, with performances each evening at 7 p.m.
The oldest and largest multi-breed horse show in the area, the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show attracts several hundred horses and riders from throughout the country. The horse show supports Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Therapeutic Horsemanship. Dogs from Stray Rescue will be available for adoption at the show and Therapeutic Horsemanship students will provide a riding demonstration.
