The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s Mid-America Chapter will host its 5th annual Cashing out for Crohn’s and Colitis Casino Night benefit on Saturday, November 11 at the Chase Park Plaza. Celebrating the Foundation’s 50 years of innovation and collaboration, the event is also a time to toast the contributions of those who have helped shape the Foundation past, present, and future.
This year, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation will honor the Mazzarella family, local advocates showcasing the impact IBD can have on the entire family dynamic and not just one individual. In 2008, at the time of their daughter’s diagnosis with ulcerative colitis, an incurable autoimmune disease, biochemical researcher, Richard Mazzarella, won an award with Pfizer for his studies and impact on IBD (Inflammatory Bowl Disease). His research, background and impact on the disease have helped shape the family’s outlook.
St. Louis community leader and president of Graybar, Kathy Mazzarella has not let running an international business interfere with her role of caring for her daughter through diagnosis, complications and flares.
