The St. Louis Artists’ Guild is pleased to announce THAT’S PAPER!?!, an exhibition of paper-based artwork by the members of the Weavers’ Guild of St. Louis, juried by Leandra Spangler. The exhibition will also feature some of Spangler’s own artwork, along with work by invited artists. THAT’S PAPER!?! focuses on the purposeful use of paper in artwork. The papers used in the artwork may be handmade, new, recycled, printed, or spun into fiber.

THAT’S PAPER!?! coincides with PAPERS! PLEASE!, the International Friends of Dard Hunter papermaking conference hosted by Washington University and Webster University, October 17–20, 2013. Conference events and activities will include workshops, demos, lectures, exhibitions, and tours. In addition to THAT’S PAPER!?!, the St. Louis Artists’ Guild’s galleries will feature three other exhibitions of works on paper in its galleries during the conference this Fall. The Guild will also host several educational programs relating to paper in contemporary art.
