Scarecrow Festival Eureka - Ladue News: Art Happenings

The city of Eureka will usher in the Fall season with colorful and artistic scarecrows posing regally in front of businesses, churches and schools throughout the month of October.  From Eureka's Uptown to Old Town, scarecrows will be everywhere!  Visitors of all ages will enjoy a fun and festive feast for the eyes as these are not your ordinary scarecrows.  Each scarecrow is a work of art constructed of paper mâché, pottery, plastic, metal and recyclable items, with all of them displaying creativity and originality.

Already a popular destination by travelers driving down I-44 to view the river valley landscape and Fall foliage, Eureka is poised to welcome visitors by offering a vibrant destination to shop and dine while participating in family-friendly community events.  Guests may visit uptown Eureka along 5th Street, running parallel to I-44, or stroll down South Central Avenue in Old Town Eureka to experience all this charming town has to offer.

The Scarecrow Festival Eureka will take place the entire month of October with an “Invasion of the Scarecrows” Celebration on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.  This event will kick-off the Festival with Games, Music, Activities, Food and more throughout Eureka along with an opportunity to vote for your favorite scarecrows.  A map will be made available, marking all the participating scarecrows, at the Chamber of Commerce office and at businesses throughout Eureka.
