November 21, 2012 - January 4, 2012, Gateway Gallery will present "The Beauty of Southern Germany" with paintings of Michele Wells' recent trip to Germany, with scenes of villages, markets, countryside and castles
of Bavaria, the Black Forest, and Lake Constance. Join us for artists' reception Friday November 30, 6-9pm . Pastel artist Michele Wells is a resident artist at Gateway Gallery, and often works en plein air, as well as in her studio. Her pastels are in private collections in US and Canada.
Guest Artist, Michael Anderson, will exhibit new watercolor and acrylic paintings based on his i-phone/i-pad sketches, incorporating composition, color, design and life drawing, combining pixels and paint with his new digital media tools. Artist, illustrator & designer for over 35 years, he collaborates with designers, architects and planners to develop interior environments and urban design concepts. Michael is author of blog Sketching St Louis, creative artisans' blog contributor, and member of Drawing & Painting St Louis Meetup, a social network for St Louis artists. Other guest artists include stone sculptor Paul Bayer, woodwork by Arnie Heuvelman and watercolors by Gene Ursprung.
Established in 2004 Gateway Gallery is a co-op art gallery exhibiting artwork of 16 regional award-wining artists whose art ranges from traditional to contemporary with a variety of media including oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, photography, ceramics, wood and papercutting. Exhibits change every six weeks featuring one of gallery's resident artists and visiting regional artists. Located in downtown Clayton, MO, the gallery is a 'must-stop' destination for art lovers, collectors and designers, and within walking distance to many fine restaurants and cafes.
