A Young Professionals Happy Hour with Composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Royce Vavrek - Ladue News: Art Happenings

Join Opera Theatre of Saint Louis for a Young Professionals Happy Hour, featuring composer Ricky Ian Gordon and librettist Royce Vavrek, the creative team who wrote the world premiere of “27,” which opens June 14 as part of the Wells Fargo Advisors 2014 Festival Season!

The event will start with complimentary appetizers and cash bar in the Craft Alliance galleries, prior to a multimedia program in the Studio Theatre, in which Ricky and Royce will share background into their creative process for developing the opera. By joining us for this event, you’ll be among the first in the world to hear excerpts from their exciting world premiere about Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas and their Parisian salon, sung by the composer himself.

While at Craft Alliance, enjoy the textile exhibit "Fail Safe," currently in their gallery. After the program, feel free to visit their Grand Center artist studios, including their new 3D printers.

This event is free, but due to limited capacity, guests must make a reservation to attend. To rsvp, please email 27RSVP@opera-stl.org or call (314) 963-4321. Please be sure to mention which event you are attending in your rsvp.

This event is hosted by the Young Friends of Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, in partnership with Craft Alliance and Kranzberg Arts Center.
