Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis presented its 42nd annual Dinner with the Stars, featuring eight-time Grammy Award-winner Natalie Cole at the Chase Park Plaza. Cole dazzled the audience with her Great American songbook show, which featured a special video duet of Unforgettable with her late father, Nat King Cole. Major donors, sponsors and 650 guests raised more than $1 million for special medical equipment, socialization opportunities, developmental programs and other resources to help Variety children conquer their challenges.
Variety’s international president, Grahame Mapp of Australia, traveled to St. Louis to present Marilyn Fox with the Humanitarian Award in honor of her commitment to Variety, including her 10 years as chairwoman of the annual dinner event. Philanthropist and jazz vocalist Nancy Kranzberg was named Woman of the Year, and Walter Metcalfe, lawyer and board leader of many institutions, was named Man of the Year.
